See, Think, Wonder

Without any explanation or description, show your students this image and ask them to describe what they see, what it makes them think, and what they wonder about. Give them plenty of think time and have them write their responses.

Discuss their responses and appreciate every single thing they say. This is not about trying to get them to think how you think, it’s about building inquiry and provoking wonders.

Stay tuned for how I plan to revisit this throughout the year and for all that we learn along the way!
